Jose Antonio (PhD, CSCS)
Jose Antonio is the CEO of the International Society of Sports Nutrition in
Florida and the current Vice President of the NSCA Board of Directors.
He is a leading research advocate in the field of performance nutrition.
Antonio earned his Ph.D. and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship
in the fields of muscle physiology, metabolism, and endocrinology. Furthermore,
he has served the NSCA in a variety of capacities (e.g. Column Editor for
the Strength & Conditioning Journal).

Clive Brewer (MSc, CSCS)
A Director of the British Strength and Conditioning Association and in charge
of sportscotland's athlete development programme, Clive Brewer is registered
as a British Olympic Association Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He
is also a British Association of Sport and Exercise Science (BASES) Sports
Scientist and has worked with international performers from a diverse range
of sports, including rugby, tennis, football and bobsleigh. He is a widely
published author, has presented at conferences worldwide and works on national
coach education programmes for sports coach UK, UK Athletics and various national
governing bodies of sport.

Lee Brown (EdD, CSCS*D, FNSCA)
Lee Brown is the current President of NSCA, a former member of the NSCA Board
of Directors and a Professor of Kinesiology in the Department of Kinesiology
at California State University at Fullerton. He is also a certified health
fitness instructor through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
and a certified club coach by USA Weightlifting (USAW). In 2003 Brown received
the NSCA Outstanding Young Investigator Award for his research on high-velocity
exercise. Brown holds both a master’s degree in exercise science and
a doctorate in educational leadership from Florida Atlantic University.

Jay Dawes (M.S., CSCS, NSCA-CPT*D)
Jay Dawes is currently the Education Director for the National Strength
and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Dawes has served NSCA in various
capacities, assisting as the Oklahoma State Director, a conference committee
member, the Personal Trainers Conference Sub-committee Chair, an Executive
Council member for the Personal Trainers Special Interest Group (PTSIG),
and as an Editor for the Strength and Conditioning Journal’s One-on-One
Column.

Ian Jeffreys (MSc, CSCS*D, NSCA-CPT*D, ASCC, NSCA Coach
Practitioner)
Ian is a senior lecturer at the University of Glamorgan, and the Proprietor and Performance Director of All-Pro Performance a performance enhancement company based in Brecon Mid Wales. A former professional rugby player, Ian is the author of Total Soccer Fitness and The Coaches Guide to Recovery, and has contributed book chapters to a number of publications. He has also authored numerous articles in peer reviewed journals internationally . Ian is the editor of Professional Strength and Conditioning, the UKSCA's professional journal. He is on the Board of Directors, of the UKSCA as well as being an accredited member, a certification assessor and coach educator with the organisation. He is the strength and conditioning coach to the Welsh Rugby Union national team at Under 16 level, and directs the Talented Athlete development program for Powys. Ian was the 2006 NSCA High School Professional of the year.

Robert Newton (PhD, CSCS)
Robert Newton is the Foundation Professor in Exercise and
Sports Science, and Co-Director of the Vario Health Institute at Edith
Cowan University, Perth Australia. Prof. Newton’s research interests centre
on applications of anabolic exercise and strength training for: rehabilitation;
treatment of diseases such as osteoporosis, and sarcopenia; and improvement
of functional ability in the older person. Much of Newton’s research
has involved cross-sectional investigations and longitudinal resistance
training studies involving a range of populations from elite athletes to aged
people which has contributed substantially to our understanding of human structure
and function and enhancement. His publication record includes over 120
published papers and 195 presentations. Newton is on the Board of the AVCC
Athlete Education Committee, Western Australian Centre for Cancer and Palliative
Care, Editorial Board of the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research
and the Research Committee for the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and consultant to many
amateur and professional sporting organisations in Australia, United States,
and England. In 2004, NSCA recognised him for his contributions and awarded
him the “Outstanding
Sports Scientist of the Year”.

Mark Roozen (MEd, CSCS,*D)
Mark Roozen is currently a NSCA Board member and is the Owner of Performance
Zone, a fitness and training centre in Granbury, Texas. He has been an active
member of NSCA since 1987. Mark is the former Texas State Director and has
served on a number of NSCA committees including: membership, conference, nominating,
by-laws, and was the Chair for the Sport-Specific Conference Committee.

Dave Sandler (MS, CSCS*D)
Dave
is the President and Co-Founder of StrengthPro Inc.
He is a doctoral candidate at the University of Miami where he was the former
assistant strength and conditioning coach and head of baseball during their
1999 National Championship season. Sandler has been strength and conditioning
consultant for more than 18 years. He has presented more than 230 international,
national and regional lectures with organisations such as NSCA, ACSM, AAHPERD,
IFPA, SWIS, ECA and SCW Fitness. Sandler has authored or co-authored five
books: Sports Power, Weight Training Fundamentals, The Resistance Band Workout
Book, Plyo Power, and Strength Training Everyone. He has published more than
20 scientific abstracts and articles and more than 75 articles in power and
strength training for various magazines and literature. He is the Chairman
of The Arnold Strength Training Summit at the Arnold Classic. Sandler is a
faculty member and recipient of the Faculty of the Year Award in 2005 for
the International Fitness Professionals Association (IFPA). Additionally,
he regularly serves in a developmental capacity for other top fitness organisations
as well as working closely with equipment manufacturers such as CorMax, ProSpot,
and Vortex to help develop better ways to exercise. Sandler has been working
with Base Productions for the critically acclaimed series Fight Science with
National Geographic and Sports Science for Fox Sports. He is a consultant
and member of the Advisory Board for
Muscle
and Fitness Magazine and the NSCA
Performance
Training Journal. He was a former power lifter and focuses his research
in strength and power development.
